About
Elekanyani means “ponder” or “remember”
“It is in the way we move through the world, and how we make people feel, that will dictate whether they remember us or not. Through the work I do, the people I engage and the ideas I share, I hope to live up to my name, and that the legacy I build is one that impacts the world positively, within my home, my community, my country and my continent.”- Elekanyani Ndlovu
As an intersectionally conscious engineer, Ele finds herself living in and navigating the socio-economic and political realities of South Africa, aware of the impact she has in her field and how this filters into the community at large. As a wife and mother of two, Ele’s life is also shaped by the experiences of family and how that relates to her greater purpose and influence, in the way she understands empathy, sustainability and the importance of prioritising things that matter.
By being conscious of core values that shape decision making, Ele believes that in a changing world, one’s agility is supported by the key driving principles we keep, and as a lifelong student, strongly believes in remaining teachable in order to grow and develop accordingly.
Ele is an experienced executive, board member, businesswoman and thought leader in her field. As a critical thinker and analyst by nature, Ele shares these insights and experiences as a podcast host and keynote speaker, with a future focused multi-disciplinary lense. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Cape town and has been technically trained to solve problems, taking into consideration how things fit and work together, always questioning how systems can be innovated and transformed.
Through coaching, Ele has a keen eye for supportive problem solving and leadership development, moulding young business innovators to fully action their ideas and apply themselves as thought leaders in their own right.
Welcome to Ele’s virtual world. Here you will get to listen and engage with Ele through her inspirational Womanifesto podcast, book her for coaching, speaking events and experience her journey.
“To think about the present is to think about past futures that have led us here, and more importantly the futures we can imagine and ideate for ourselves in an intersectionally conscious way. We all have experiences, we carry stories within us and the way we share these should contribute to making an impact that matters and will matter for years to come.” - Elekanyani Ndlovu
“The path we pave now should be engineered with the future in mind, where black women who come after me no longer have to jump the same hurdles in pursuit of equitable participation and success. I am here to be part of a community that rewrites the narrative, where we can come together and talk about our realities, challenges and victories, and own it in all its glory!” - Elekanyani Ndlovu

Womanifesto
Womanifesto centers the voices, stories and experiences of women navigating their professional and personal worlds and how they connect.
It is about educating one another and unpacking these realities through conversation, asking difficult questions, engaging our experiences holistically and challenging each other to grow, innovate, think and move in ways that will impact people positively.
Womanifesto creates a space for critical engagement where we do not shy away from the holistic experience of being a woman in South Africa - that which is tender and difficult, as well as that which is exciting and beautiful.
As women, we experience intersectional barriers in society that often result in others telling our stories for us. Womanifesto is about us reclaiming our voices, experiences and ideas, and supporting one another in order to manifest them into a reality.
